September 16 (7.15pm for 7.45pm):
Stauffenberg: Das Hitlerattentat.
Excerpts from a film re‒enactment of the events surrounding the attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler on 20 July 1944, to be followed by a short discussion.

October 21:
Der Bundespräsident ‑ die Rolle des Staatoberhaupts in Deutschland.
German journalist Hendrik Bebber, UK correspondent for
numerous radio stations and newspapers in Germany, discusses
the role of Germany's head of state following the election of a new
federal president on 23 May this year.

This event will be kindly supported by the German Embassy.

November 18 (7.15pm for 7.30pm):
Die Widerstandgruppe “Weiße Rose”.
Katie Rickard, PhD student at the University of Bath, will show
excerpts from the film, “Die Weiße Rose” and discuss the
Munich‑ based wartime student resistance group.

Weihnachtsabend. Our Christmas party:

January 20:
Vorsprung durch Technik ‑ oder ist die deutsche Technik in der Krise?
Is German technology in a state of crisis?
Talk by Peter Pfeffer, DAAD‑Lektor at the University of Bath and former
development engineer with Audi in Ingoldstadt.

February 17:
Oskar Schlemmer: Der vielseitige Künstler aus Stuttgart.
Illustrated talk by Professor Ernst Sondheimer about the versatile
artist Oskar Schlemmer.

March 17:
Bildbetrachtung: Deutsche Expressionisten.
Illustrated talk about German Expressionism by members Marlis Garner
and Christina Bramble.

April 21:
AGM and Members Evening.

(Saturday) May 21, 3.00 pm ‒ 5.00pm:
Hof-Fest mit Kaffee und Kuchen draußen im Garten der BRLSI.
An informal garden party in the courtyard of the BRLSI.

All Welcome.
