Cyflwyniad a geir (yn uniaith Gymraeg) ar y CD.

Mae'r caneuon i gyd yn perthyn i ardal Solva (hwnnw yw'r enw gwreiddiol ar y lle, enw o Scandinavia), fy hen gartre yn Sir Benfro. Ma'r band a fi wedi creu'r record hon i ddathlu cyrraedd 60 oed, ac i roi croeso i'r Eisteddfod Genedlaethol i Dy Ddewi a Solfach yn mis Awst 2002. Yn y llun ar y clawr bla'n wi'n naw oed ar y bompren yn Solfach Isha yn 1951. Wncl Rhys Davies tynnodd y llun. Ma gweddill llunie gan Roger Puw Evans. Diolch yn fawr iawn i Dafydd a cwmni Sain am roi'r cyfle i ni ail-recordio'r hen ganeuon ma!

Ysgrifennais fy nghân Gymraeg gyntaf ‘Tryweryn’ yn Rose Cottage, Prengas, Solva yn 1966, so ma hi arno hefyd.

Hwyl fawr a phob lwc,

Meic Stevens,
Caerdydd, Gorffennaf, 2002.

Introduction (in Welsh only) on the CD.

All of the songs relate to the Solva area (that is the original Scandinavian name of the place), my old home in Pembrokeshire. The band and me have created this record to celebrate reaching 60 years of age and to welcome the National Eisteddfod to St. David’s and Solfach in August 2002. In the picture on the front cover I am nine years old in Lower Solva in 1951. Uncle Rhys Davies took the photo. The other pictures are by Roger Puw Evans. I am very grateful to Dafydd and to Sain to give us the chance to re-record these old songs!

I wrote my first song in Welsh, ‘Tryweryn’, in Rose Cottage, Prengas, Solva, in 1966, so it’s also included.

Goodbye and good look,

Meic Stevens,
Cardiff, July, 2002.
